After Pregnancy - Weight Loss Program

Weight Loss after Pregnancy- It is Not That Difficult

Weight loss After Pregnancy

You’ve just been through the most wonderful experience of your life. You’ve had a beautiful baby; brought a whole new life into this world. And still you don’t feel so good. Could it be because your body does not look the way it used to in your pre pregnancy days? While thirteen pounds have been taken care of, when your baby was delivered, there are still about twelve to twenty two pounds hanging around your body. Cause for gloom?

There is No Magic Wand for Weight Loss after Pregnancy

Here is good news. Weight loss is not impossible after pregnancy, but don’t expect magic. It could take you at least eight months to a year to get back into shape again. You don’t have to do vigorous exercises, but a daily routine of walking, swimming or yoga could work wonders for you.

Some Points to Keep in Mind

Do not start a weight loss routine immediately after delivery. Eat a well balanced diet and do some mild form of exercise for the first three months.

Be gentle to your self. Do not over do your exercises, especially if you have not been exercising during pregnancy.

Always remember to do your warm ups and cool downs before and after exercising.

Rather than eating two heavy meals, eat four to five light and small meals in a day. This improves your metabolism and is great for breast feeding your baby.

Do not eat junk food. Avoid fried and fatty foods and eat fresh green vegetables, whole grains, and fresh fruits.

Do not try to copy some one else’s diet or exercise routine. Your body is unique and it has unique needs, so have your doctor or your dietician design a special diet to work for you.

Finally, concentrate on relaxing, enjoying being a mother, and eat a healthy diet. Soon you will also be able to fit in the weight loss program in your schedule as well!

Tummy Tuck After Pregnancy

A Firmer Tummy with a Tummy Tuck After Pregnancy

A tummy tuck is also known as an abdominoplasty. A tummy tuck after pregnancy tightens the stomach wall muscles and takes off the extra skin and fat from your body. However, a tummy tuck after pregnancy is not a replacement for a good weight loss program. You must loose as much weight as you can, before going in for a tummy tuck. What it does for you is that, it tightens the sagging muscles around your abdomen and gives you a toned look. Something to consider is, to avoid going in for a tummy tuck, if you plan to have more children. Because once you have a child, the effects of the tummy tuck wears off.

How a Tummy Tuck Is Done

A cut is made just below your abdomen and above your pubic bone. Then the flab is sucked up and so your abdomen begins to look firmer. This process is possible, not just for small amounts of flab, but even if you have a lot of fat on your abdomen.

Sometimes, the cosmetic surgeon does a combination of tummy tuck and liposuction. This is a very effective method of getting yourself a flat stomach. The best part of it is that, you are given anesthesia before the tummy tuck is done. Therefore, by the time you wake up, you have a beautiful sexy flat tummy.

Find Yourself a Good Cosmetic Surgeon

If you wish to have a tummy tuck, find yourself a good cosmetic surgeon, some one who has had previous experience and a good reputation. Talk it over with him and take his advice on the advantages and disadvantages of a tummy tuck after pregnancy. Also, read a lot of good books and health magazines, so that you are completely aware of what these procedures are and how they can work for you. We wish you a flat and firm tummy.
